INRA and NewVectys announce their research & development partnership in animal biotechnology dedicated to research on human health

INRA – NewVectys

The French National Institute for Agricultural Research (INRA) and the biotechnology company NewVectys signed a partnership agreement to reinforce their scientific collaboration and develop breakthrough innovations in animal biotechnology for research on human health.

This partnership will promote the scientific, technological, economic and industrial synergies between INRA and NewVectys in animal biotechnologies and their applications in animal health and well-being, as well as human health.

INRA and NewVectys will reinforce their cooperation by sharing their know-how and complementary strengths to develop research programmes, specialised infrastructures and technological tools in the benefit of animal biotechnology and its applications to serve human health.

In order to strengthen the implementation of the partnership, NewVectys will set up an R&D team specialised in animal biotechnologies at the INRA Research Centre of Tours.

The partnership will also enable the organisation of seminars and symposiums for national and international scientific teams in order to promote translational research, from basic research to the development of innovative human and veterinary therapeutic solutions.

INRA’s research aims at ensuring healthy and high quality diets, competitive and sustainable agriculture and a valued and preserved environment. INRA combines scientific excellence and research with a social objective and a mission of generating and transferring scientific knowledge to develop innovations and expertise for the betterment of society.

NewVectys is a French biotechnology company that specialises in genetic engineering innovation. NewVectys, created two years ago, emerged from CNRS research (National Center for Scientific Research), a French leading research organisation, and Pierre & Marie Curie University (UPMC, Paris), which houses its team on-site at the Hôpital de la Pitié Salpêtrière in Paris. The company relies on two decades of research with an international network of scientific partners. NewVectys researchers pursue and extend academic work and propose technologies and advanced services for biomedical research to both public and private laboratories.
