A scientific cooperation and exchange programme between the European Union and Australasia on forests and climate change coordinated by INRA
In an interview published in the international journal Innovation in August 2011, Jean-Michel Carnus (INRA Bordeaux-Aquitaine), coordinator of the TRANZFOR project (2009-2012), explains the main issues of this scientific cooperation and exchange programme between the European Union, Australia and New Zealand. Launched on 1 February 2009, this project is part of the "People" programme for staff training and exchange provided for in the Marie Curie international network of the FP7.

This International Research Staff Exchange Scheme (IRSES) concerns forests and climate change and finances an exchange programme for 75 people over 4 years (2009-2012) between European organisations and laboratories - INRA, Institut Supérieur d'Agriculture de Lille - and laboratories situated in Australia - Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) - and in New Zealand - SCION, the NZ forest research institute. Australia and New Zealand have signed a scientific cooperation agreement with the European Union.

- forest models
- environmental services
- risk assessment and management
- bioenergy
