Participation in European Programmes

As the leading agricultural research institution in Europe, INRA has confirmed its role as a major actor in the European Research Area encouraged by a favourable policy set up in the last four years to mobilize and support its scientists. The early results of FP7 have revealed marked growth in the coordination of projects, when compared to FP6. In the context of FP7, INRA is coordinating 46 European collaborative projects and participating in 113 others.

The first five calls of FP7

INRA submitted 551 projects, 174 of which have been financed by the European Commission, which represents a success rate of 31.5%. About 46% of INRA's projects were submitted in Priority 2 of the Cooperation Programme (Food, Agriculture and Fisheries, and Biotechnology) which reflects INRA's fields of competence.

At the close of the first five calls, INRA is coordinating 46 projects (not including individual grants):
Within the framework of the Cooperation Programme:

  • 12 large collaborative projects
  • 12 small collaborative projects
  • 4 ERANET
  • 4 CSA (Coordination and support action)

Within the framework of the Capacities Programme:

  • 7 Research Infrastructure projects

Within the framework of the People Programme:

  • 2 Marie Curie International Training Network (ITN)
  • 5 International Research Staff Exchange Schemes (IRSES)
