Research Divisions and Partnership Managers

Research divisions lie at the heart of INRA's economic partnership strategy

Partnership managers, working in a network and reporting to the head of their research division, manage, develop, implement and monitor its partnership policies. They provide support for any team or research unit initiatives aimed at constructing partnerships and developing projects. They are organised in a network so as to ensure overall coherence of INRA's partnership strategy and to be able to implement joint, inter-research division actions.

The principal missions of the partnership managers are:

  • to analyse research opportunities (project screening) and demands (search for partners),
  • to check the coherence of partnership projects with the scientific themes and priorities of the department and with the contractual commitments towards different partners, both within the division and in relation to INRA as a whole,
  • during the construction of partnership projects, to ensure mutual benefits for both INRA and its partners. Collaborative projects must generate scientific progress and technological innovation, taking account of the needs of partners in terms of economic results and industrial constraints,
  • take decisions concerning the protection of research results which offer prospects for economic exploitation,
  • ensure the implementation of good partnership practices, participate in negotiations on the organisation of collaborations, monitor and evaluate the partnerships involved and their impact.
