Microorganisms: a biological resource centre and collections

© INRA, Biotechnology of Filamentous Fungi Unit
INRA has collections of yeasts, filamentous fungi, animal and human pathogenic bacteria, food bacteria and plant pathogenic bacteria. These collections are located on five sites which constitute the International Centre for Microbial Resources (CIRM).

INRA has a vast collection of microorganisms in terms of biodiversity.

In order to better organise and utilize these collections and make them accessible to the scientific community and to the sectors concerned, INRA has set up the International Centre for Microbial Resources (CIRM), located on 5 different sites, each site having a specific theme: yeasts (Grignon), filamentous fungi (Marseille), animal or human pathogenic bacteria (Tours), bacteria of food interest (Rennes) and plant pathogenic bacteria (Angers).
