Scientific databases

A number of databases are available in the fields of bioclimatology, biology of living organisms and molecular biology

Molecular Biology and the Genome

  • EctomycorrhizaDB
A database of the International Mycorrhiza Genome Consortium, which provides access to a wide range of EST datasets from various species of ectomycorrhizal fungi.
  • Poplar DB
A functional genomics database for Poplar.

  • GrainGenes
A genetic database concerning Gramineae in general and more specifically Triticeae, oat and sugar cane. The official GrainGenes database is located at Cornell University in the USA.
  • Predotar
A prediction service for identifying putative N-terminal targeting sequences.

Bioclimatology

  • The Châlons Oilseed Rape Database
    Bioclimatology Research Unit - Grignon
Data from an experiment on N fertilisation in a field with an oilseed rape crop and in a bare control soil. Measurements include water and nitrogen contents, soil density, soil moisture content, drainage, leaching, rainfall, mineralisation and denitrification.

Biology of Living Organisms

  • Weed Biology and Management - Photo library
Joint Research Unit INRA/ENESAD/ University of Burgundy
  • Catalogue of the Lepidoptera of the French West Indies
Species of macrolepidoptera found in Martinique, Guadeloupe and their dependencies. Each species is illustrated as colour pictures from collection specimens, and presented with all biological data available (host-plants, frequencies, distribution, behaviour).

  • HYPPA Weed Encyclopaedia
A database of the main weeds (580) of Western Europe. It describes the species at the mature plant and seedling stage and provides information on their taxonomy, distribution and ecology.
  • HYP3 Plant Pathology Encyclopaedia
A database describing major pathogens (bacteria, fungi, viruses) of crops in Western Europe and a glossary of plant pathology terms.
    Species
    Diseases
    Glossary
    Crops

  • HYPPZ Pest Encyclopaedia
A database describing major pests (insects, mites, rodents, nematodes, small vertebrates) of crop and fruit trees in Western Europe.
    Species
    Pests
    Glossary
    Crops
