A mathematician by training and a former researcher for the RAND Corporation, Prof. Hammitt is the quintessential multidisciplinary researcher, with some one hundred articles in publications such as Nature, Science, and top economics journals. He has carried out empirical research on risk management and works with US risk management bodies such as the Environmental Protection Agency. Prof. Hammitt joined the team of the Laboratoire d’Economie des Ressources Naturelles (LERNA) on 1st September 2010 as part of the 2009 Packages scientifiques programme.
